National Security and Worship

National Security and Worship

The purpose of this letter is to keep you in the loop of discussions concerning National Security and Worship.  I am presently in discussions with two groups: The Task Force at a local community church and a young pastor (with a college age son) connected with the Southern Baptist Convention.  In regard to justification for “Worship”, both these groups brought forward I Timothy (Paul passing the Gospel Baton to the much younger Timothy) as justification for “Worship”.

As a National Crises Troubleshooter for the past 55 years (with a short break for college where I graduated at the top of my class and received an offer to come to Livermore at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory where I earned the reputation as “The Top Gun National Crises Troubleshooter”), my interests, of course, include national security.  I learned about national security of the Israelite nation while teaching fourth grade Sunday school at TC.  It appears the Israelites had a slight problem understanding the guidelines that were given to them that would have made their new nation successful.  It also appears the Apostles had a slight problem with understanding the instructions that the messenger (the Representative of the Creator of the Universe, or “RoCoU”) they called Jesus gave to them on His exit from this planet Earth.

The Time Line:

  • The Israelites took the Ten Guidelines for a successful nation as literal commands.
  • The Israelites actually made a religion around these Ten Guidelines they took as Ten Commandments.
  • The Israelites were overrun by their neighbors the Babylonians and their elites forced into exile.
  • While in exile, the Israelite elites recorded the first five books of the Old Testament, which included their Ten Commandments.
  • The Israelites were allowed to return to their destroyed homeland and rebuild.
  • The Israelites were conquered by the Romans.
  • The RoCoU came to Earth as a seed in a virgin called Mary.
  • He grew up in this Israelite community now controlled by the Romans.
  • On obtaining the age of about thirty, He took on his assignment to form a task force that would take his teachings throughout the world.
  • After about three years of teaching and forming this task force, He put into action the path to return back to his home somewhere in the universe.
  • To travel through empty space, His body had to change from matter into energy.  This new body form would enable Him to leave this planet and make His way back home. He had to die and resurrect from the dead to change into this new body form of energy. [i]
  • After His resurrection from the dead and before leaving this planet, He instructed his followers to: “Go then, preach the good news about the kingdom.  Do not lay down any rule beyond what I determined for you, nor promulgate law like the lawgivers or else you might be dominated by it.[ii]
  • What this RoCoU, who they called Jesus, taught his followers during his time on Earth would now be called a paradigm shift.  A new paradigm is not dependent on the old or existing paradigm but is entirely a new way of interpreting the exiting data. [iii]
  • The followers of the RoCoU – the Apostles including Paul (Saul) – could not separate this new paradigm from the old or existing paradigm and what they brought to the world was a hybrid of the old and new paradigm.  In other words, they put their own perspective (spin) on the teachings of the RoCoU.
  • The four books that are now available that present the teachings of the RoCoU without adding their own perspective (spin) to the evidence are: Mark, Luke I & II (also known as Acts), the Gospel of Thomas (thought possibly to be one of the “Q” sources, which was a hypothetical first century list of Jesus’s sayings referenced by both Mathew and Luke, (with a wide range of possible dates from the mid-first century to the fourth century), the Gospel of Mary (attributed to the teachings of Mary Magdalene, but probably written in the second century by non-Jews (Gentiles)). [iv]
  • Athanasius, The Archbishop of Alexandria, who sent out an Easter letter all over Egypt in the spring of 367, ordering believers to reject what be called ‘illegitimate and secret books’…. also included a list of twenty-seven books of which he approved, calling them the ‘springs of salvation’.  Strikingly, the twenty-seven books he names in this letter are precisely those that came to constitute the collection we call the ‘New Testament’ for which this letter provides our earliest known list.“
  • “But apparently some monks defied the archbishop’s order to reject all the rest; instead, they saved and protected over fifty texts from their library by sealing them in a heavy jar and burying them away from the monastery walls, under the cliff where they were found sixteen hundred years later[v] (1945).  Is this then a time capsule?
  • The books of I & II Timothy were evidently written by Paul while he was in chains in Rome. The aged Paul is passing the proverbial torch of the Gospel to the much younger Timothy, who Paul was quite familiar with through Timothy’s mother and grandmother.  Paul, in his first letter to Timothy in chapter 2 of the NIV Bible, is telling Timothy how he wants the women of the church to dress, wear their hair and accessories appropriate for “women to perform good deeds, appropriate for women who profess to worship God.”
  • Considering our National Security is at risk I don’t think the mention of “worship” in I Timothy can justify not following the second of the Ten Guidelines: a successful nation should not be overrun by its enemies!
  • In general, Paul’s theology is that Christians sacrificing their bodies to God as workman for God. This is Paul’s new definition of “worship.”
  • Does this new definition of “worship” exempt us from the benefits provided by the second of the Ten Guidelines for a successful nation?  Or does this new definition result in a nation operating at such a low operating efficiency that their national debt becomes unpayable with their GDP?  As our second president John Adams stated, “There are two ways to conquer a nation: war and debt.”
  •  My personal experience is that people who place their life’s priority on worship cause much of the turmoil in the world.  It seems we cannot all agree on who or how we are worshiping and this results in discourse, both nationally and personally.  It looks as though worship creates “sacred cows” that must be protected to the death.
  • My high school girlfriend did not receive any of my letters when I came out west. She was brought up Catholic and I was brought up Lutheran, so those were justifiable reasons for someone who has a priority in protecting their “sacred cow” to intercept my letters.  When I got her on the phone, planning to attend a 35-year class reunion, the first thing I heard was, “You have a lot of explaining to do!”  She had been searching for me for thirty-five years!
  • When my wife of Catholic upbringing reacted to my joining a Baptist Church (a heretic church as she had been taught), she felt a great need to rescue the children from the heretics and filed and proceeded through with a divorce!
  • My daughter, who was twelve at the conclusion of these divorce proceedings, was in the full custody of her mother and no visitation rights to her father.  My daughter never received any of the half dozen expensive music boxes that I brought to her home with her mother for her birthday and Christmas gifts.  Was her mother protecting her children from the heretics?  What kind of worship do these actions represent?  Is the church of your youth a “sacred cow?”
  • Worship does not create cohesion of those who call themselves Christian, but worship causes discourse not only among Christians, but of non-Christians.
  • I have accounts of two Protestant churches that I’ve been involved with during the past thirty-eight years that illustrate the same point as the two above, and that is that worship creates “sacred cows” that must be defended at all cost even to the detriment of church members in good standing.
  • The Protestant churches have a major inertia problem preventing them from moving forward with new enlightenment.  That problem is professional Christians.  Professional Christians must “preach to the choir.”  That is they have to teach the children and adults of the church the same doctrine as their parents and themselves were taught or these church members will vote with their feet and leave that church for another church, taking their church contributions with them.  This leaves the professional Christians without an income.  Paul, as a tent maker, had the right idea. Paul being supported by the members of his churches was a good idea in theory, but not practical in execution.
  • Then there are those who worship God with a different name or in a different tradition than any of the Christian sects.  Some of these extremists are threating our own national security today!
  • Claiming that we can redefine worship to give a different purpose to our lives, as Paul intended, is well and good in theory but, in practice, the same results are obtained as if these were the worship of idols as stated in the second of the Ten Guidelines for a successful nations!
  • Worship is not mentioned or even given and honorable mention in John chapters 14 & 16.  The focus on the departure from this planet Earth is on the RoCoU sending us a personal advocate, counselor, Holy Spirit, etc. to guide us through this life on Earth.

Summary

In regard to national security, nothing that man has thought up could surpass this gift of a personal guide through life. There is no possibility that a “sacred cow” could be made of this gift and therefore not a threat to our national security or discourse within our nation among our citizens.

Conclusion

In a nutshell, the Ten Guidelines, Ten Codes of Conduct, or, as the religious demand, Ten Commandments recorded in Exodus chapter twenty were given to a new-forming nation that was given land to build their nation.  These Ten Guidelines, when followed, would give this new nation a high economic operating efficiency.   Their national debt would not be skyrocketing out of control, exceeding their capacity to even make payments on the interest to the loans from other countries.  They would be a stronger nation than their competitors’ nations and would not be overrun by their neighbors.  These Ten Guidelines are all about national security and influence to the world.

The SINS of the FATHER are PASSED DOWN to the THIRD and FOURTH GENERATION

Ver. 1.0.4

The Top Gun National Troubleshooter, Retired

https://gadflyblog.com/tag/sins-of-father/

10/29/2017

Introduction

“The sins of the father are passed down to the third and fourth generation” is a quote from the Old Testament of the writer’s observations of history.  Although it is true for fathers and sons as in the case of alcoholism, drug abuse, dysfunctional aggressive communicators, etc. it is also true of the fathers of a nation (the leaders) whose citizen’s sons and daughters and their sons and daughters etc. will be subject to the sins of the fathers of their nation.

On September 11, 2001, democracy changed in the United States of America.  National policy of “We—Win, You—Lose” has been in place since the inception of our nation.  Even in our own Civil War it was “I–Win, You–Lose”.  Negotiating “Workable Compromises” was unheard of even until this day in 2017 with only a few notable exceptions.  Two of those exceptions were the Cuban Missile Crises with Russia during the John F. Kennedy administration when JFK stood alone against the Hawks that wanted to invade Cuba with USA forces and negotiated a “Workable Compromise” with the Russian leader Nikita Sergeyevich Khrushchev, with the aid of the recently developed Polaris Submarine Missile. During the Richard M. Nixon administration when RMN signed a peace treaty with Ho Chi Minh’s representatives of North Vietnam ending USA’s long involvement in South Vietnam, RMN did not have to win the war as his predecessor LBJ proclaimed “He did not want to be the first president to lose a war”.  All other international conflicts have been “We–Win, You–Lose”.

The Peak of Democracy and Freedom in the USA

September 11, 2001 was the beginning of the massive terrorism attacks, on the USA and European countries, that we are experiencing to day from large terrorists organizations.  These terrorist organizations such as ISIS and ISIL had their beginnings during the Bush Administration primarily involving the President, Vice President and the Secretary of State.  The Iraq leader appeared to be massing weapons of mass destruction (WMD).   A low ranking thud was evaluated to prominence in the Sunni Muslim Community by this Bush Administration and then, (the USA extinguished him). This prominent Muslim leader had a vision of an Islamic State.  The Secretary of State argued to the United Nations that a Preemptive strike was warranted against the Iraq Sunni Muslim Administration.  The Bush Administration warned the Iraq Sunni Administration of the planned invasion, the Iraq Sunni Administration responded with clearing Iraq of all evidence of WMD’s.

This was the first Preemptive Strike by USA forces in the history of the USA and set in place the Bush Doctrine ofPreemptive Strikes against Terrorism”.   Our reputation as Preemptive Strikers is now cast in stone on the international scene.  Other non-North Atlantic Treaty Organization (non-NATO) Allies, now live in fear that the Americans will strike first and  are now justified in developing Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBMs) capable of reaching the shores of the USA.  The USA can no longer be trusted to hold their fire until provoked; The USA has established a policy of First Strike. These nations feel they must create equal forces to  protect themselves from the Americans.

Loss of Freedom and Democracy in the USA

This new “Preemptive Strike Policy” will not only encourage foreign, non-NATO countries to establish a nuclear threat, but terrorist activities against the USA, and Europe, can be expected to continue and increase; threatening the USA’s democracy and freedom, and the freedom of Europeans. The citizens of the USA will lose their freedom to more regulations and controls enacted to prevent terrorism.   The more regulation and laws we have the more Law Enforcers we will have to ensure compliance with these regulations and laws.  The citizens of the USA will become encumbered with more scrutiny from these Law Enforcers.

The Way Forward

There is only one way forward for the USA and that is to admit to our mistake of a preemptive strike on Iraq and those organizations forming and following a mission to bring the USA to its downfall.   In effect the USA must repent from its sin of “First Strike” and make amends with the enemies created by this “Preemptive Strike Policy”.  The leaders and representatives of the USA must learn the skill of negotiating “Workable Compromises”; that is actions that are not “I–Win, You–lose”, but “I–Win, You–Win agreements or in other words create Treaties with our adversaries in the world.

This is the only action that will save the USA from destruction that has beheld those counties before us whom created a “Preemptive Strike Policy”.  There are too many countries to name in history that have created “First Strike Policy” to name a few: Germany WWII, Germany WWI, the South USA Civil War, the Romans, and the Persians against the Greeks etc., etc. all of these countries or empires were defeated eventually by their First Strike Victims.  The only way forward is for the USA to abandon this Bush Preemptive Strike Policy and start negotiating Treaties representing “Workable Compromises” throughout the world.

 North Korea

A Preemptive Strike on North Korea, which is developing ICBM’s capable of reaching major cities in the USA, will result in an immediate response by North Korea against South Korea, Japan and Guam, a USA territory and major Pacific US Air Base.  This is A NO-WIN SITUATION for all parties concerned.

North Korea is justified in their fear of a Preemptive Strike from the USA.  What do the North Koreans want (?), probably the same thing that Ho Chi Minh wanted in Vietnam, a unified Vietnam without the interference of the USA Military!  Can the USA prevent the North Korean’s from a preemptive strike against South Korea?  It is unlikely that North Korea would move against South Korea with a nuclear weapon and have no interest in a nuclear attack against Japan. The saber rattling, by the North Korean’s, against Guam is probably just that. The North Korean’s know that the USA cannot stop them from developing a nuclear ICBM capability and they are letting the USA see this for a fact!

Cyber-Attack

A cyber-attack to disrupt the production of weapons grade uranium has been used by USA allies against Iran’s centrifuge operations that produce weapons grade uranium.  To initiate a preemptive cyber-attack on North Korea, be its centrifuges or other infrastructure, would certainly result in cyber-attack retaliations by North Korea against the USA’s infrastructure notably the power grid.  North Korea has already demonstrated its ability to disrupt major businesses in the USA.

Restrained USA

The USA is caught in a Military No-Win Situation with North Korea there is no military solution to North Korea’s ICBM capabilities.  The best result will be obtained by negotiations and limiting the access to nuclear materials by North Korea.  In addition, the best result will be a Stand-Off and a long-term policy to improve the USA’s relationship with North Korea; the USA abandoning the Bush Administration’s First Strike Policy; and establish a policy of negotiating workable compromises.

Warning

This is not going to be a short report on the solution to living free, as citizens, in a free country like the USA, but it is probably the most import report ever written concerning our freedom as citizens living in a free nation.

Introduction

Conflict will occur between citizens, as well as between citizens and authorities, in all situations imaginable in our towns, communities and cities of all sizes. It will even happen in music festivals, county fairs or at any other events where we are compressed into a small space. It is how we resolve these conflicts that determine if we are going to live as free citizens in this free country, or are regulated by rules, laws and law enforcers, resulting in the loss of our freedom as citizens of a free nation.

Qualifications of this Writer

What are the qualifications of this writer to address this issue of freedom for citizens within a free nation?

Innate and Environmental Knowledge

In other words, what skills, knowledge and abilities did I receive from my parents and ancestors, and what did I learn from growing up in a family with two college graduates for parents?  Birth position in the family often is a major factor in developing our personalities and the personality traits that go with learning from these relationships with our parents, siblings and the community in which we grow up. [i]

I was born last in a family of eight children, last of four children by my mother, who was a college graduate when less than three percent of women in the USA had college degrees.  I was raised in a small farming community and was known by the community as “Doc’s Kid.”  My father was a veterinarian and the director of the Quality Control Department at a local creamery.   He was also the County Health Inspector who inspected the milk producing dairy farms to ensure disease-free and healthy milk.  I was also mostly known as “The Inspector’s Kid,” even by my farming classmates.  In retirement, he was invited to be the Plant Health Inspector at a meat producing plant just outside of town.

Lessons Learned from my Father

As a young teenager, I accompanied my father on his inspections of the dairy farms.  On one occasion, as he was finishing up this inspection, he confronted the dairy producer within earshot.  My father told the dairyman, “Make sure the lids on the milk cans are on tight as water is leaking into them.”  In this time period, the milk was kept cool in a spring-fed pool of water until the milk truck arrived to pick up the milk.  The dairyman got the point; my father knew from laboratory analysis that he was watering down his milk to increase the volume of milk and increase his profit.  When we got back into the car my father said to me, “Always give them a way out.”

When my father was the Health Inspector at the local meat-producing plant, he brought to the attention of the meat producers that there was a health problem in the sausage producing line.  The managers of the plant did not agree with this inspection report.  The plant was required, by Congress, to have a meat inspector in their employment.  This gave the managers of the plant the option to hire and fire inspectors as needed to produce meat and make their profit margin acceptable.  My father was terminated as Health Inspector for this meat-producing plant.  My father said to me, “Always call it like you see it and you will never be wrong.
I applied this later in my career, as the Quality Control Inspector for the Superconductors being manufactured by a vendor for a large magnetic fusion test facility (MFTF) at The Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory in Livermore (LLNL), CA.  I found a length of conductor slightly out of specification for its content ratio of copper and superconducting material.  Since it was not too far out of specification, one of the overseeing engineers wanted me to “fudge” the numbers and pass the superconductor on to the assemble people.  “Call it like you see it and you will never be wrong.”  If you call it like someone else wants you to call it; you will be wrong every time. I have been in many situations as a troubleshooter and always followed my father’s instructions.

The Development of a Troubleshooter

It is the small things in life that put us on paths that we will follow all our lives.  When I was still on a tricycle, three of my sisters came home from out-of-state college to find out that their college funding was being terminated.  In those days, it was more important for men to go to college than women, and this kid on the tricycle became a priority for college.  My first generation college graduate parents did what a lot of, new to the middle class, parents do, and that is they had more kids than they could get through college and had to make the hard choice of who was going to college.  My father died my last semester in high school, and my five sisters were convinced that I was too stupid to go to college as I barely made it through high school.  This was true, except for in the subjects of math and science, where I excelled.  My science teacher lobbied for me to go to college and study physics, but I ended up leaving my Midwestern home and working in a saw mill on the Pacific coast.

After a year working in the saw mill, I joined the US Air Force. I graduated at the top of my class at Jet Engine Mechanic Training School and also later passed the exam to move up in grade with a perfect score, which was something that had never been accomplished before.  In fact, I was accused of cheating, but this charge was dismissed. I was assigned to the Small Gas Turbine Shop and was assigned to a trainer.  Small Gas Turbines were used to generate axillary electrical power (APU) for the fuel tankers, a.k.a. KC135’s. It refuels the B52 bombers – the largest bombers in the fleet – and was used extensively in LBJ’s War.

My trainer and I went out to one of these tankers and, when, at the flight deck, we approached the APU in the rear of the plane, he popped the lid off.  He gave me my instructions, “When you find out where the problem is the solution will be obvious. I’m going down here to take a nap. You wake me up if you need me” (There were two cots for the refueler’s to lie on during the refueling operations). This is the only training that I ever received in the art of troubleshooting.

This writer ended up in LBJ’s war in the South Pacific.  I prefer to use the name of the president who was promoting this war, as this puts the responsivity for the war where it belongs – on the Commander-in-Chief (another problem for another day).  I was assigned to a Material Transport Wing and we sent helicopters and aluminum caskets into South Vietnam. We left the helicopters there; the coffins were filled with the fallen and we sent them back to the USA to be buried by their families.   I was assigned to the Flight Line Jet Engine support group.  We had two shifts that worked a twelve-hour shift (noon to midnight and midnight to noon) for four days, then had three days off and then switched shift hours (this was necessary as it was too hot to sleep during the daylight hours and it gave us time to catch up on missed sleep when on the noon to midnight shift).

My sergeant observed that I had a special talent for troubleshooting the problems associated with the jet engines and I was often called on to give a second opinion on an engine waiting for parts to arrive from the states.  Arriving on shift at noon, my sergeant picked me up first thing.  We headed for a transport aircraft that the night crew had been troubleshooting all night without being able to identify the problem.  The sergeant explained to me the symptoms the engine was exhibiting.   When we reached the front of the aircraft, I told my sergeant “where the problem was and what the solution would be to fix the problem”.  We had that aircraft ready to take off in a couple of hours.

 On to College

At the end of my tour of duty, I headed off to college at a technical school, following my hands-on training as a jet engine mechanic.  College was a real shock as I had to learn things that I knew nothing about, like using a T-square and a drawing board, making two lines connect or be parallel to each other, how to use a slide rule to do multiplication and division problems, how to read and remember what I had read!  One summer, I was hired by the department to do the maintenance on the laboratory equipment and assist my metallurgical professor with the investigation of a phase change in a gold-lead alloy system.  This investigation had been going on for more than a few years without success.  I designed and built a compressing device that would mix the two elements together at different temperatures.  The phase change would be observed using an X-ray diffraction spectrometer.  Performing the mixing at lower temperatures, I noticed a change in color in the mixture.  Sure enough, this was the phase change we had been looking for.  Now with this additional indicator (the change in color), I could perform the experiments faster and get more data and higher resolution to the temperature of the phase change.  The temperature of the phase change was found to be within a few degrees Celsius.

Experience at LLNL

I graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering Technology, with minors in Physics and Metallurgy.  When I applied for a position at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL), I found out that my metallurgical professor’s review stated that “I was the most advanced student to ever go through that college”.  I was accepted on the staff at LLNL and assigned to a group working to develop fusion energy as a new source of energy.  After about ten years with LLNL, I was working with the Superconducting Development Group to develop a new high field superconductor for a high field test facility (HFTF).  I was invited to lunch by the program manager and the lead engineer on this project.  They were discussing the manufacturing problems at the contractor’s production facility on the east coast.  I offered up my opinion: “Find out where the problem is and the solution will be obvious.”  I was told to pack my bags and go troubleshoot the problems associated with the manufacturing process for this new high field superconductor.

On reaching this production facility on the east coast and observing the production process, I soon identified where the problem was.  However, this production line had more than a few problems.  We shut the production line down and I returned to LLNL where we redesigned and built new equipment for most of the production line.  However, we had not yet addressed the problem that I first identified.  This is where I was first introduced to Adlerian Psychology (Birth-Order Psychology – more on this subject to come; stay tuned).  The lead engineer on this production line refused to acknowledge that the problem I had identified as “The Problem” was the actual problem.  From my studies in Adlerian Psychology, I found that one of the traits of a firstborn in a family is that they will develop leadership traits and one of the attributes of these leadership traits is that “they know they are right even when they are not.”[ii]  We were running out of funds and running out of conductors to process through this last sept in the production process.  I knew I had to take control of the situation.  On identifying the person in this facility with the expertise to solve this problem, I met with him in his office.  My position was this: “You find a solution to this problem and I will design, build and implement your solution.”  He did and I did, and we sent the conductors ready for the coil winder that I had already designed and built and we created a world record magnetic field across a 40-millimeter bore in the HFTF.  I received an award for “Performance, above and beyond the Call of Duty.

After about twenty-five years at LLNL, I had received many challenges and worked on several projects of national interest.  At LLNL, it seems there is always a national crisis that needs to be solved.  I had been working with a young female engineer from MIT.  There is an invisible sign above the doors to LLNL that states that “Only the Best of the Best Shall Pass through These Doors.”   She was definitely one of the best of the best in the nation.  She was the only child of two PhD engineers and had received an abundance of “innate skills, knowledge and abilities” from her parents and graduated at the top of her class at MIT.

Working with her was quite an experience and I advanced my knowledge of Adlerian Psychology.  We were first induced in “My Experimental Laboratory” by the lead engineer of our group.  I was seated on a chair in my lab and when I was introduced to her as her lab partner for her upcoming experiments, she jumped into giving me directions on how to proceed: “I want this over there and I want that over here!!!!”  After I picked myself up from the floor – as she literally blew me off my chair – I stood before her and stated, “I don’t want this over there, I want it here, and I don’t want that over here, I want it over there!!!”  She looked at our lead engineer and he stated, “See, he can do that too.”  Welcome to the Adlerian Psychology of only children (“I Want” is paramount to their communication style).

At LLNL, there are contract employees who are communication experts and they teach classes on communication skills and on conflict resolution and teamwork communications. With the filter on the entry door “The Best of the Best,” these communication instructors will never run out of students to teach. I have gone through some of these classes twice to try and get the hang of this “Assertive Communication Style,” a.k.a. “adult to adult” or “win-win” communication.  We often go into the workforce with the communication style we developed in our family of origin and from parents who were low on the communication learning curve.  Without retraining to an assertive style, we will take the communication style learned from our developing years in our families to the grave.  It takes the whole organization to retrain one of these aggressive communicators; a one-on-one attempt will result in them thrashing you into the ground (more on this subject to come).

The Most Important Task-Force Ever at LLNL

The organization worked to improve this young lady’s communication style to an assertive win-win style.  We worked together as a team of two for about four years.  I was called on to join a task-force that was forming up to solve the latest national crisis issue.  When I met with the team, I suggested that they bring my partner onto the task-force, as she was very intelligent and a good investigator.  A few weeks later she showed up as the leader of this task-force.  I found out later that it was standard procedure at LLNL to put an up-and-coming engineer in charge of a group and support them with more experienced personnel; in this way they teach the young, up and coming, how to lead and then they move up to leadership roles  in the organization.

We were on this task-force for about a year.  As mentioned previously, I was considered too stupid to go to college by my sisters and ended up in a hands-on environment rather than the mathematical environment that regular physics majors receive.  I later concluded that the visualization method of troubleshooting that I had used in my Air Force experience must have come to me as innate knowledge from my father.  I did nothing to achieve these visualization skills; they just came naturally.  There was a core group of about a dozen engineers and physicists on this task-force and hundreds of support personnel:  physicists, chemists, material scientists, computer modelers, etc.  When I wasn’t needed elsewhere, I spent my time in my lay-back chair with my feet on my desk and my hat pulled over my eyes.  This was the meditation routine that I developed or copied from others.  One day, I looked at an illustration on the website of the local college where I was improving on my physics education.  It was an “A-ha” moment.  I then realized where “The identified problem” was and what the physics for this phenomenon was. Writing up my findings and sending them to the program manager with my suggestion for further study, I was on hold for a few weeks.  Another experimental team addressed “The identified problem”, made the necessary changes and performed a successful mission accomplished test.  The task-force was dissolved.  It was the successful completion of this task-force that I earned the reputation as “The Top Gun National Troubleshooter.” This young MIT and now Stanford graduate engineer left LLNL to design toys for children.  She left with a review of my performance “She thought I was the nation’s secret weapon”.  End of discussion on this writer’s qualifications as a National Troubleshooter.  Q .E. D.

A Side Bar on Communication Styles

One of the task-force leaders came to my office a few weeks later and wanted to know how I solved the problem.  When I walked to my whiteboard to draw an illustration of the phenomena, he stated “I don’t want to see an illustration and I don’t want to hear anything about religion.” (I guess my reputation for relying on a higher power preceded me.) He proceeded to ask me questions in the Socratic style thinking that the right question would produce the best answer.  Some people are very visual and some people are very verbal; we could not even communicate with one another because of this extreme difference in skills.

The Firstborn Syndrome

Because of the sign over the entry doors to LLNL, only the best of the best are on staff at LLNL.  With this type of filter on the entry doors, the results are that most of the staff is either the only child or the firstborn child in their respective families and they have their distinctive communication styles (more on this subject to come).  For about ten years, I was a member of a Platform Speakers Club at LLNL. At one of our group meetings in a semi-large conference room that was fully packed with our club members, I had control of the podium and I asked the question, “How many in this room are the firstborn child in their family?” A show of hands indicated that everyone in this conference room was the firstborn in their family, except me.  I’m a member of a study group in a church called the Explorers; there are more people with PhDs in this class than one would normally find in a whole church body.  I asked a similar question in this group: “How many men in this class have and older brother?”  Ninety percent of the men raised their hand.  Although some of us had a brother that was ten to even sixteen years older, the profile still fit us.  I visited my old church and did a sample survey and found the same results (more on this subject to come).  The conclusion must be that firstborn brothers go into technical fields and the younger brothers go to church.  This Adlerian Psychology is really fascinating.

Communication Styles

The gurus of communication have identified four styles of communication that pretty much describes all of our citizens.  They are identified by four different characteristics.

Passive Aggressive Submissive Assertive Aggressive
You win; I lose, but I will get you back. You win; I lose You win; I win I win; you lose
Snake-in-the-grass Doormat Adults Tyrant
Loser to tyrant Child to adult Adult to adult Adult to child

Adlerian Psychology and Communication Styles

There are several different scenarios on how these communication styles are formed in our formative years in our family of origin.  Dr. Kevin Leman, Professor of Psychology, University of Arizona, Tucson, describes two different firstborn styles: compliant and controlling.   I would guess that these two different traits would fall into the submissive and aggressive categories of communications.  Falling back on Adlerian Psychology, my observations are that if a firstborn has a same sex sibling close in age, they will develop an aggressive communication style.  If a firstborn has an opposite sex sibling close in age, they will develop a compliant communication style.  There can be other factors involved, such as an alcoholic or drug-addicted parent.  Keep in mind that this is psychology and there are always exceptions and anomalies in the database.

The younger same sex near sibling would likely develop a submissive communication style.  The opposite sex near sibling could well develop a firstborn personality.  On down the family birth order, there will be a mixture of middle born children.  The “True Middleborn” will be caught between a same sex near older sibling and a close same sex younger sibling.  These Middleborns will have to negotiate for their own personal space and act as a referee between their older and younger same sex sibling.  Therefore, they will grow into adulthood as negotiators and peace keepers. [iii]  Other combinations of Middleborn siblings is a mixed bag and too difficult to analyze or theorize.  The Lastborn of close in age siblings will develop a personality, skills and traits that will enable them to do well in marketplaces as sales persons or marketers taking advantage of their developed social skills.  Dr. Leman discusses the traits of all these different types of birth orders in great detail in his many books. [iv]

Personnel for Microcosm’s Security and the Nation’s Police Forces

From these discussions and insight into personalities and traits of the different family birth order, could there be a solution to police abuse of our citizens?  Can these different birth orders provide guidance to jobs, the police beat and special assignments?  For instance, the true middle born will develop natural abilities in “Peace-Keeping and NegotiatingWorkable Compromises.” Therefore they are a natural fit for domestic interaction with our citizens.  Can the aggressive personalities be retrained to exhibit an assertive style of communication and the accompanying “attitude adjustment?” Certainly, the younger the officers, the more easily they would be able to make the adjustment to the assertive, win-win style.  Then there are police assignments that require a hard-nosed aggressive communication style, with people that need to be brought “under control”, where “Being in Control”  is the prominent trait of the Firstborn with a near (within five years) same sex younger sibling, making a perfect fit for this job assignment. [v]

Negotiating a “Workable Compromise

The first step in negotiating a workable compromise is to draw a line in the sand that represents your borderline that “works for you.”  Do not accept any compromise that does not work for you; other solutions to the conflict must be addressed to find a solution that works for all parties involved.  This is the basic concept to “Living as Free Citizens in a Free Nation.”   Q. E. D.

Case Study

Microcosms

There are microcosms of citizens coming together in close circumstances.  These microcosms can be used as test-beds to develop strategies that allow citizens to live free in a free nation.  There a several varieties of these events where citizens come together for a short period of time.  My one experience is with a music festival that meets yearly during the week of Father’s Day.  Some people come with tents, some come in small RV trailers, and some in large, home-sized RVs, and these people live together in a compact space for four days.

Co-existence of Compromiser’s and Rule Enforcers

This festival has as an organization with a seated volunteer board of directors who are responsible for all aspects of putting on this enormous music festival.  Talent contributors come from all across the country, as do the attendees.  This board of directors has chosen to use rules and rule enforcers to manage this large group of mostly rule-abiding attendees.  Even the fairgrounds where this festival is held have its own set of rules to follow.  Therein lies the challenge – can negotiating a workable compromise and rule enforcers coexist with each other?  My recent experience in this exact situation says no, they cannot coexist.  We can either have negotiators or enforcers, but we cannot have both at the same time if we want to live free in a free nation.

Festival Father’s Day 2017

We had an anomaly, for this time of the year; a rain storm had hit this area with a vengeance.  This created a mud swamp where it is designated RV parking.  Several RVs got stuck in the mud and left deep ruts, even in the RV designated spot that I had specifically reserved six months earlier.  It gave me a great view overlooking the lake just past a public area with picnic tables.  One caveat of this designated RV parking space was that someone had gotten stuck in the mud at one end of the space and left deep ruts, now dry and hard, covering about 25 percent of the RV parking space.  All the RV spaces were marked with white lines and were adjacent to each other, both sideways and front to back.  I pulled the RV trailer right next to the line opposite the deep ruts and extended my awning and patio carpet just past the ruts.  My truck is an integral part of my rig, as a second refrigerator is in the truck and plugged into the RV trailer.  This means the truck needs to stay connected to the RV trailer, making it too long to fit in our designated parking spot while missing the deep ruts.  The RV spaces are outlined in white and I had to encroach on the RV parking spot in front of mine, but there was significant space for this RV to move back about three feet, at least at this time four days before the rest of the RVs showed up for the festival (I was attending the pre-festival Music Camp).  I knew this was going to result in an attempt to negotiate a workable compromise, so I did my best to position my patio close to the deep ruts.

Pre-Festival Music Camp

My dog and I arrived four days prior to the opening of the music festival and I attended a music camp for these four days.  The traffic in the RV park was very limited during this time, giving my dog room to run after being tied up on a leash all day.  He could not get enough of running free after spending all day under the RV trailer (as per festival rules).

The Festival Starts

On the first day of the festival, RVs started showing up and available real estate was disappearing.  Some of us RV campers paid for an electric hook-up and were in the designated parking areas.  Other RV campers parked at free will as space was available.   The RV that was designated to park in the spot where my truck had encroached showed up later than most and the opportunity for accommodating this situation with the deep ruts was getting thinner.  When this large RV showed up, most of the free spaces were taken and the RV park manager could not find a solution that would allow a fire truck access to all the RVs.

Attempt to Negotiate a Workable Compromise

We were in the process of coming up with alternatives when about a dozen uniformed security personal showed up at my RV. The first officer on the scene said “You’re not going to like this”.  They were bent on forcing me to accept a compromise that I already had decided would not work for me.  In fact, their head of security showed up and designated me as a “rule breaker” and said that “if I broke one rule, I probably broke other rules as well”. He asked me if my dog was on a leash (a festival grounds rule).  I informed him that the dog was in plain sight and he could see for himself if my dog was on a leash.  I was very upset that he had affixed a label to me.  Affixing a label on someone or group of persons is the first step in dehumanizing them and then they are deprived of their human rights and, in the USA, deprived of their rights under the Constitution of the USA.  I explained to him what a “red herring” is.  “One is on their way to accomplishing their objective when a red herring swims by and instead of staying focused on the objective they chase after the red herring.”  I then pointed out to him that he had brought a red herring to this discussion.  One alternative that was not discussed was filling up the ruts with dirt and making this RV space completely usable.  If each of those dozen security officers came with a bucket of dirt, the situation would have been resolved to everyone’s satisfaction.  Workable compromise negotiations came to a standstill on the arrival of the security personnel.  My brain was now traumatized; on reflection, after the fact, I have thought of other options that I could have come up with to facilitate the workable compromise.  This incident has led me to the conclusion that Negotiators and Rule Enforcers cannot coexist; they are mutually exclusive.

Change in Plans

I now considered my options.  This security team was bent on forcing me to accept a compromise that I already had established would not work for me.  The first rule of negotiating a workable compromise is: “Don’t be forced into accepting a compromise that does not work for you!”  My dog was exhibiting signs of depression. He had been tied up for the last four days according to festival rules and he had no place to run free or socialize with other canines.  He was not allowed to accompany me to class, to lunch or to the audience area of the festival.  When I got back to see him at the RV, he was overjoyed to see me.  But now he is not eating and is camped under the RV trailer.  With strange security personnel all over our RV space, my dog was now traumatized.  I decided it was best to pack up and leave the festival.  I got my partner on the phone and she said she was still at home. I told her to stay there as we were coming home.  She was able to cancel her hotel reservations without a penalty due to a high demand for rooms.

Packing up the RV for Travel

As the officers of the security team were leaving in their golf cart, we confirmed that we were all war veterans.  I stated to them: “This was not the freedom that I fought a war for, and I do not think that any of the 5,000 fallen that I sent back to be buried by their families would agree that this is the freedom they died for.” I think the security team’s war veterans agreed to this statement.  The head of security wanted to make sure that I left, so he stationed two of his officers next to my truck to make sure I did not change my mind and that I removed my RV in a timely manner.   I have formed the habit of looking for the silver lining in all situations of this nature.  Here was an opportunity to interview two security officers and apply my knowledge of Adlerian Psychology to the situation at hand.  One of the officers was showing definite signs of an aggressive communication style, as he did not pass up any opportunity to show me that “he had authority over me and had the ability to cause me great pain.”  He was also prodding me to get my RV out of there in a timely manner.  The other officer presented himself in a helpful manner.  I therefore pointed a finger at the officer with the aggressive personality and told him that he was the firstborn in his family (I should have asked him how many years younger was his brother, as this situation produces the most aggressive personalities) and I told the other officer that he was a middle born in his family.  They both confirmed that I was right.  The aggressive officer continued to assert his authority and the middle born officer continued to seek peace.  I asked them why they were here supervising my withdrawal from this festival as I had volunteered to leave, and the aggressive one stated, “Because you pissed off the boss.”

I missed an opportunity to bring up the Nuremberg Trials of German Nazi officers who obeyed the commands of their demented leader rather than doing what they knew in their hearts was the right thing to do.  These dis-empowered officers were convicted of war crimes against humanity and were sent to the gallows.  It is this writer’s observation that it is the dis-empowered people in the world that cause the most pain and suffering for other people.

I got the RV trailer packed up and ready to go.  I was traumatized myself from this experience with Rule Enforcers and I didn’t use my RV pre-trip checklist, so did not turn off the hot water heater or the propane tanks. But we made it home without incident or only minor incidents.

Missing the festival was not a big loss as, at the last three festivals, we spent our time in camp listening to the music on the radio, going to the audience area only to buy CDs or ice cream.  Most of the performers dress like they just came out of the barn so there is no visual performance to be viewed!  The only group I had marked this year to go listen to and see was Dole Lawson, for I knew he would be dressed like a performing artist.

How Can We Improve the Management of this Festival?

I suggest we start with the requirement that to become or remain on the Board of Directors, Security Personnel and membership in this organization a person must produce a certificate of completion in an Assertive Communication Class and a Class on Negotiating Workable Compromises.  These two classes would be offered and taught by the organization’s contracted experts in the hands-on-methods of assertive communication and negotiating workable compromises

Our Citizens (Members) Developed Communication Style

Most of us have developed our communication style and skills from our family of origin from parents who had poor communication skills.  Others spent a good deal of their life communicating with children in an adult-to-child (aggressive) mode and controlling by rules.  They too must learn the adult-to-adult (assertive) communication style and how to negotiate a workable compromise.  Festivals like this could be used, as a microcosm of the nation, could produce, with these actions, a role model for the rest of the nation to follow.

Guidelines not Rules

My dog Buddy had been leashed up and not allowed to accompany me to any events at Music Camp for four days.  He was now depressed, not eating and traumatized from all the security personnel on our RV site.  I offered to leave the FDF, as a solution to the lack of space problem, Buddy was ecstatic to get back home and Run Free; he ran from one end of our property to the other as fast as he could go.  One of the dog owners in the RV lot, whose little canine was running free, off-leash, said that “He sees the rules as guidelines to be interpreted by each individual”.  I think he has the solution to living free in a free nation. Guidelines not rules or laws will eliminate the need for Rule Enforcers in the microcosms and Law Enforcers in the nation.  This may not be applicable in every situation, but it does eliminate the enforcer’s attitude that “I have power over you and I can bring pain into your life! “ They will no longer have this power over the citizens and they too must negotiate workable compromises.  Any hard and fast rule must be followed by the justification for that rule and these rules must be ratified by the membership of the organization. “How can we live free in this Free Nation”? By learning/enacting assertive communications, negotiating workable compromises and enacting, not rules/laws, but guidelines.

By Jove, I think we’ve got it. We now know how to live free as members, in microcosms and as citizens, in a free nation.    Q.E. D.

Ten Simple Codes of Conduct

Ten Simple Codes of Conduct Ver. 1.0.1

Introduction

These Ten Simple Codes of Conduct have been misinterpreted since they were first written over three thousand years ago.  They were meant to provide a new nation with an infrastructure that would make them an economic powerhouse and greater than their competitors that would want to take their land from them. These Ten Simple Codes of Conduct when followed, would produce a nation with a high national economic operating efficiency (NEOE), resulting in what would not be a continuing growing national debt as we (the USA) now have, but a national economic surplus.

These Ten Simple Codes of Conduct have been made into a religious symbol by labeling them as “The Ten Commandments” – commandments that must be followed under the authority of God.  Therefore, under a “separation of church and state” policy, a growing number of individuals and organizations think they should be removed from public property.  The Ten Commandments were never meant to be religious and this is probably the most disastrous action that could have been initiated onto these Ten Imperatives.  They were meant to develop a strong infrastructure in this new nation making them economically stronger than their competitors that would take their land from them.  It is the nation’s economic vitality that makes a nation strong, not its many weapons and troops on the ground.   Philosophically, the Ten Commandments are hypothetical Imperatives and not categorical imperatives.  A categorical imperative is something one does because it is the right thing to do.  A hypothetical imperative means there is a reward for following the imperative. German Philosopher, Immanuel Kant, of the eighteenth century, thought that there was only one categorical imperative, as he stated, “Act as if the maxim of thy action were to become by thy will a universal law of nature[i].    The reward for following the Ten Simple Codes of Conduct is that “we will live long in the land that has been given to us.” (Exodus 20:12) Thus, the Ten Simple Codes of Conduct are actually Ten Hypothetical Imperatives.

Two Ways to Enslave a Nation

“There are two ways to enslave a nation – with war and with debt.”
John Adams, second president of the USA

We are in an economic war with our international competitors and the nation that has the highest NEOE will own the other nation’s debt.  Theoretically, the interest on the national debt can grow to exceed our taxable gross national product (GDP) and the cost to operate our country.  In this case, we will have become slaves to the nation holding our national debt.  The Ten Simple Codes of Conduct were, and are meant to, form a strong national infrastructure and create a high NEOE, therefore, making us more competitive in the international economic war.  This is not by the will of a “higher power” but first year economic principles.  The lower a nation’s NEOE, the higher the national debt will be. The higher the nation’s NEOE, the lower the national debt will be, and there may even be a surplus in the budget.

Explanation of the Ten Simple Codes of Conduct [ii]

  1. You shall have no other gods before me: Would not any parent tell their children this same thing – that they are the ones responsible for their children’s well-being, so don’t seek advice or help from anyone else. There is a higher power who is the one with all the resources and He’s the one who is willing to give us the resources we need to live on this planet. Just as our parents gave us what we needed to live on this planet Earth, so does this higher power, a.k.a. the Creator of the Universe (CoU).
  2. Do not make yourself an idol: These instructions are to a people that are naturally very religious and they are going to find something to worship that is going to take up their time, energy and resources. This can be extrapolated to modern times to such things as: alcohol, tobacco, drugs, porn, gambling and many more things that can take control of our lives.  The Russian physiologist, Ivan Pavlov, showed us how easy it is to form a habit through conditioned response by rewarding ourselves for a certain behavior, a.k.a. “classical conditioning” [iii].
  3. You shall not misuse the name of the Lord your God: This has been interpreted for centuries as a verbal This cannot be a verbal activity; it has to be an action activity.   Do not intend to bring harm, discomfort or kill anyone in the name of God, a.k.a. the CoU.  This applies to a nation as well as to individuals that make up that nation.  This cannot be both verbal and action, because if it were both, someone might make a verbal remark that is taken by someone else as “taking God’s name in vain” and then they chose to bring discomfort or death to the accused, which is an action in God’s name, and therefore, misusing the name of God.   Therefore, verbal and action of the misuse of the name of God are mutually exclusive.Even the Apostle Peter did not understand that misusing the name of God is an action, as he verbally accused two capitalists of withholding funds to the Apostles’ social program after they had sold their land and only gave part of the capital gains to the Apostles. It appears both the husband and wife may have died from a heart attack after being accused of sinning against God by Peter for withholding part of the capital gains from the sale of their property and only contributing a portion of the proceeds to the Apostles’ social fund to take care of widows and those in need. [iv]  If this is the role model we are to follow, we are in “Deep Trouble” economically!
  4. Remember the Sabbath and keep it holy: The best reference I have seen on this subject states that “The Sabbath was made for man, not man for the Sabbath.[v]   We need one day a week to recharge our batteries, and spend time with our families and friends.  Everyone needs to choose for themselves what day this will be for them. The latest investigations by this writer indicate that the seven-day week evolved from there being five stars that wandered (Planetes Asteres`), [vi] plus the sun and the moon, as Earth was thought to be the center of the universe. Nature has shown us many numbers in a Fibonacci Sequence (1, 2, 3, 5, 8, 13, 21, etc. to infinity), such as the numbers of: spring flower petals, rings on a sea shell, layers on a pine cone, stars in galaxies, etc.  The number seven does not appear in any significance in nature!  Therefore, an eight-day week, consisting of a five-day work week and a three-day weekend, would allow for one day to resupply the home with life’s necessities, one day to perform all the required maintenance on the home and one day to spend with family and friends (the Sabbath day).  Or, take as many three-day holidays as you desire. [vii]
  5. Honor your father and your mother, that you might live long, in the land I’m giving you: We need to learn from our parents and respect their wisdom and knowledge.  They have seen things firsthand that we will never see.  “Living long in this land” is an economic reality.  These Ten Simple Codes of Conduct are classified as hypothetical imperatives – something one does because there is a reward for following the imperatives. This is not by the choice of a higher power it is first-year economics.   Any nation that follows these Ten Imperatives (not necessarily the USA) will develop a strong infrastructure and a high NEOE.   The result will be that they will be stronger economically than the nations that would like to take their land from them.Modern twenty-first century technology has shown that, as we develop our skills, knowledge and abilities, our DNA also changes and reflects these improvements. Therefore, our parents and ancestors passed down their skills, knowledge and abilities though their DNA and we will pass our improved DNA to our descendants. Respecting the sources of our DNA certainly speaks of honoring your father and mother and their ancestors.
  6. You shall not murder: We will not advance socially if we are killing each other.  Each of us can contribute to the economics of the nation and we need all of our productive citizens to operate efficiently.
  7. You shall not commit adultery: This is probably one of our nation’s most complicated issues.  One really needs to connect with this Personal Counselor, Personal Advisor, or Tour Guide through Life that the Representative of the Creator of the Universe (RoCoU), a.k.a. Jesus, sent to us at the Pentecost Festival after his ascension into His world in a form that was compliant for the journey.  Notice that these are descriptive terms for what the literature calls The Holy Spirit, or the Holy Ghost. These are known as “horse labels” (“this is a horse” or “this is an elephant”).  The former are known as “descriptive labels,” as they describe what the entity does.  To connect to this Personal Advisor, one only needs to make a decision to want to connect to the Advisor, and the Advisor will find you. Just be prepared to listen to this Advisor advising you (something like “a little birdie told me”). This is all you need to do. There are no ceremonies needed – not even a declaration of your decision, as this decision is personal, private and confidential information, and it is between you and this Personal Counselor. It should be noted that adultery does not specify monogamy; it does not rule out polygamy. Having more than one spouse of either sex earning an income would upset the economy due to the fundamental law of economics: supply and demand.  Having more than one income per household causes those with only one income in their household to have to hold down two jobs or find a way to supplement their income.  Sometimes this situation results from the “Have-Nots” preying on the assets of the “Haves” and feeling justified in doing so.  Civil law would judge these single income families as law-breakers for these activities resulting in the taxpayers paying for their room and board in a government-run penal facility, contributing in-turn to a decrease in our NEOE and an increase in our national debt. [viii]  Thus extra taxes would need to be leveled on multiple income families to equilibrate for the economic reality of supply and demand.
  1. You shall not steal: Theft causes a great inefficiency in our national economic operations. These activities results in there being too many policemen’s boots on the ground trying to manage these crimes and building more prisons to hold more prisoners. It is counterproductive to increasing our GDP and increases our national debt.  This could extrapolate to the point where more of our tax dollars are spent building prisons and taking care of inmates than tax dollars allocated to educating the next generations of GDP producers. Schools and prisons are in competition with each other for funds from the taxpayers. The more funds allocated to prisons, the less funds are allocated to schools that are producing our next generation of GDP producers.
  2. You shall not give false witness against thy neighbor: Courts are inherently inefficient; we should not waste our tax dollars on false reports of crimes committed.  It costs dollars to defend oneself against false charges, which may be the objective of the one making the false report, but we must think of the cost to the taxpayers as well as the effects on our NEOE.
  3. You shall not covet thy neighbor’s house or wife: Be content with what you have. Legal cost to manage greed can be staggering and the negative social issues that result from divorces are numerous and astounding.   These are all a drain on our NEOE and can have lasting effects on others in our society down to the next three or four generations.

Conclusion

The Ten Commandments have been misinterpreted since their inception.  We see their dramatization every year by Cecil B. De Mill’s presentation of The Ten Commandments and Charlton Heston’s portrayal of Moses coming down from Mount Saini with the these Ten Commandments written in stone.

Nobody likes to be commanded to do anything.  This is a loss of their freedom. Or is it?  My canine friend understands a number of commands, but these commands do not take away from his freedom. Instead, they provide for his safety and the safety of others.  Commands such as “stop,” “lead,” or “leave it” are all designed to provide for his safely in crossing streets and disengaging from other canines, felines, squirrels, etc.  So as it is with these Ten Simple Codes of Conduct – they are not given to take away from our freedom, but they are given to protect us from the invasion of our nation by a foreign competitor, by war or by debt, and the resulting loss of our freedom.

Definitions [i]

Conscience

1) The sense of what is right and wrong that governs somebody’s thoughts and actions, urging him or her to do right rather than wrong.  2) Behavior, according to what a person’s sense of right and wrong tells them is right.  3)  Psychoanalysis, which is the part of the superego that passes judgment on thought and behavior to the ego for further consideration.

Con-science

1) To cheat somebody dishonestly, usually out of money or property, by first convincing the victim of something that is untrue.  2) To tell somebody something untrue or misleading.  3) To persuade or inveigle somebody to agree to something.  4. A dishonest trick or business ploy that takes advantage of somebody’s trust, such as telling lies in order to get money or property unfairly.  5) An argument against doing something, or evidence supporting the view that something should not be done.

The Source of Conscience

The Creator of the Universe (CoU) was a perfectionist’s perfectionist.   Our knowledge of the universe began its epic journey in 1929 when Edwin Hubble observed, at the Mount Wilson Observatory in southern California, that what were believed to be nebulae (clouds of light) were actually galaxies, and that far off galaxies were exhibiting light in the red spectrum. [ii]  “Hubble’s findings fundamentally changed the scientific view of the universe. Supporters state that Hubble’s discovery of nebulae outside of our galaxy helped pave the way for future astronomers. Yet the reason for the redshift remained unclear. It was Georges Lemaître, a Belgian Catholic priest and physicist, who found that Hubble’s observations supported the Friedmann model of an expanding universe based on Einstein’s equations for General Relativity, which is now known as the Big Bang Theory. This meant the greater the distance between any two galaxies, the greater their relative speed of separation.[iii]  It has been calculated that if the expanding universe expanded at an increased rate of one unit in the fifteenth decimal place, the universe would blow itself up.  If the universe expanded with a decrease of one unit in the fifteenth decimal place, the universe would collapse under the universal force of gravity. [iv] Therefore, the CoU must be a perfectionist’s perfectionist.  In His perfection, the CoU gave the evolved man a brain with wisdom (sapien) and a conscience to guide him through life on his planets.  Questions remain however: When do the Homo sapiens who were given “wisdom” become aware of their conscience?   Is it like “wisdom teeth” that appear in one’s late teens or early twenties, when they progress from being hormonally driven and gain the skill of rational and logical thinking?  Is there another maturity progression when Homo sapiens become aware of their conscience between the ages of thirty-five and thirty-nine?   Are there distractions that prevent the discovery and connection with the conscience, such as background noise like televisions, stereos, radios, MP3 players, headphones, etc.? Or are they age-old teachings handed down from a religious society, instructed by authoritative Homo sapiens to consult a book that has been given authority to guide the Homo sapien to do what is right, a book comprised of the history of the religious society that was groomed to be the landing field for the Representative of the Creator of the Universe (RoCoU), writings of the witnesses of the teachings of the RoCoU who did not themselves know the purpose of this visit from the RoCoU or put their own perspective (spin) to the teachings and purpose of the coming of the RoCoU imparting a religious bent to this visit, or writings of persons to be made a prophet, or other authoritative persons given high position of authority?  There seems to be a great number of reasons why many Homo sapiens do not know they have a conscience let alone knowing how to connect to their conscience to be guided in what action are right and what are wrong.

Jung on the Conscience Connection

Karl Jung noted in an experiment that he performed on men of various ages in the 1930s, “on their view of God.”  Before the age of thirty-five, the consensus was that “God had no meaning in” the lives of these men. Between the ages of thirty-five and thirty-nine, the consensus was that “God was the most important person” in the lives of these men.  Supposedly, after the age of forty, their views of God did not change; if “God had no meaning” in their lives, He still had no meaning in their lives; if God had become the most important person in their lives, He remained the most important person in their lives.

History of the Conscience

Does this recognition of God, as observed by Jung, mean that the recognition of conscience is a maturing process? And, if it does not happen to everyone, there must have been a seed planted in their minds at some earlier period of their growth?  The RoCoU (a.k.a. Jesus) taught that a seed as small as a mustard seed, when planted, can grow into the largest of plants. [v]  Did He mean that we need to plant the seed of God into our developing Homo sapiens? The mystery continues: How does one become aware of their conscience, a conscience that guides the Homo sapiens to do the right thing?  Socrates is quoted as stating that he was “guided by a Spirit or Daemon[vi]” to keep him from making mistakes”. [vii] This is the only recorded acknowledgement, as per this author, that this phenomenon was personalized up until the delivery of “The Personal Counselor,” a.k.a. Advocate, a.k.a. the Holy Spirit, was delivered, as He, the RoCoU, had promised, on the day of the Pentecost Festival following His crucifixion, resurrection and ascension. [viii]

Let Your Conscience be Your Guide” is a statement as old as history; it did not originate with Jiminy Cricket in Pinocchio in 1940 as many believe.  The writer of 1 John in the Bible disagrees with this statement and believes the conscience can be corrupted; he insists that one must listen to God. “…assumes conscience [or heart] may deceive in much the same way as feelings may deceive. Faith means trusting in God’s love and making ourselves available for its action despite what we may feel. Faith cannot be based on feelings. Nor should its criterion of authenticity be absence of struggle. A troubled conscience or mind may coexist with a life of faith. By shifting the basis for confidence from human feelings and inner harmony to hard faith facts about God and behavior, the author is boycotting a common religious trend, then and now, to make inner human experiences the criteria of spirituality…. It would [also] be wrong to read this passage as devaluing conscience or our thoughts and feelings altogether. They may be a guide, but their quality as guide will be determined by the quality of person who is being guided. The author is not operating with an idealistic notion of conscience as somehow representing the voice of God within….He operates rather with the notion that our thoughts and feelings are part of our own system of awareness which may be misinformed and misguided. There is also a touch of realism in the author’s obvious appreciation that Christians may well at times have to struggle with unresolved tensions within their personalities which have their origin somewhere other than God. There is a profound comfort in the assurance that God is greater than our conscience and knows all (3.20), because this God is the God of love and compassion and may be trusted.”[ix] [x]

The Origin of God’s Word Recorded in Writing

The Development of the Christian Church

The Christian Church had its beginnings on the day of the Pentecost Festival after the death, resurrection and ascension of the RoCoU, and the arrival of the Personal Counselor, Advocate or Holy Spirit.   The first church planters were Peter and Paul. “Two men started the churches; they were Peter and Paul, two different men and two different churches.” [xi]  The new churches grew with many differences in doctrine, practices and traditions over the next three hundred years (e.g.  infant baptism, as baptism was seen as the gateway to Heaven; believers’ baptism or baptism of converts; churches where women played a major role; churches were women were not allowed to participate in the church at all; on what day the Sabbath was, whether on Sunday or Saturday; etc.)  To quote from Gulliver’s Travels (Johnathan Swift, 1726): “Some cracked their eggs on the small end and some cracked their eggs on the large end,” and I suppose some cracked their eggs in the middle.

The Emperor Constantine

While the Roman Emperor Constantine the Great reigned (306–337 AD), Christianity began to transition to the dominant religion of the Roman Empire. Historians remain uncertain about Constantine’s reasons for favoring Christianity, and theologians and historians have argued about which form of Early Christianity he subscribed to. There is no consensus among scholars as to whether he adopted his mother Helena’s Christianity in his youth, or (as claimed by Eusebius of Caesarea) encouraged her to convert to the faith himself. Some scholars question the extent to which he should be considered a Christian emperor: “Constantine saw himself as an ’emperor of the Christian people.’ If this made him a Christian is the subject of … debate.”, although he allegedly received a baptism shortly before his death.

“Constantine’s decision to cease the persecution of Christians in the Roman Empire was a turning point for Early Christianity, sometimes referred to as the Triumph of the Church, the Peace of the Church or the Constantinian shift. In 313, Constantine and Licinius issued the Edict of Milan decriminalizing Christian worship. The emperor became a great patron of the Church and set a precedent for the position of the Christian emperor within the Church and the notion of orthodoxy, Christendom, ecumenical councils and the state church of the Roman Empire declared by edict in 380. He is revered as a saint and isapostolos in the Eastern Orthodox Church and Oriental Orthodox Church for his example as a “Christian monarch.” [xii]

“Constantine wanted a consistent doctrine to be upheld in the Christian Church and the dissenting churches began to disappear or went underground.” [xiii]

Beyond Constantine and the Evolution of the Christian Church

One of these dissenting churches became known as Anabaptist (meaning re-baptizers).  Baptism of infants predominated in the Constantine Church.  Anabaptist was not a term of endearment but akin to the present-day label of “terrorist,” in that they could be killed on sight.  It was common in this time period to fine the heads of the Anabaptists displayed on a stake for all to see. [xiv]  Anabaptists are today known as Baptists; they were never a part of the Catholic (Constantine Church) but survived through the dark history in isolation.

The Bible Canonized

At this written in the first quarter of the twenty-first century, Christians are being taught to look in the Bible, which is “God’s Word,” to determine right from wrong.  The Bible was canonized at “The Council of Trent, held between 1545 and 1563 in Trento (Trent) and Bologna, northern Italy. [It] was one of the Roman Catholic Church’s most important ecumenical councils.  Prompted by the Protestant Reformation, it has been described as the embodiment of the Counter-Reformation. During its deliberations, the Council made the Vulgate the official example of the Biblical canon and commissioned the creation of a standard version, although this was not achieved until the 1590s.” [xv] Those Gospels chosen for the cannon were consistent with the events of the death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus. “There are four corners of the earth and four winds thus four Gospels”.  The message of the Council of Trent seems to be this sequence of events in the processes of Jesus’s exit from planet Earth.  Are we to consider these writings in this cannon, “The Bible”, as the “Word of God” to be our guide and not our Conscience?

The Nag Hammadi Scriptures [xvi]

“The Nag Hammadi Scriptures is a collection of thirteen papyrus codices-bound books, not scrolls-that were buried near the city of Nag Hammadi in Upper Egypt most likely in the second half of the fourth century CE.” These codices were discovered in 1945 by a gatherer of fertilizer looking for bird droppings.  It is suggested that these writings were considered as apocryphal writings by leaders of the church.  In these codices is the Gospel of Thomas thought to be the “Q”, the missing reference used by the writers of Mathew and Luke because of their similarities.  “The Gospel of Thomas” contains the sayings of Jesus as recorded by His disciples.  “The Secret Letter of James” mentions a meeting of the Apostles where they recalled and documented the saying they recalled or heard from others. James also mentions a visit at this meeting by Jesus, resurrected, that encouraged them to not be afraid of death. This is a revelation by a pseudonym called James at the end of the second century or at the beginning of the third, in Egypt, probably in Alexandria, in a milieu moving toward a break with the official church .

These Nag Hammadi Scriptures were not available at the Council of Trent when the writings were chosen for the cannon. These Codices were like a sealed “Time Capsule” some person(s) thought they were important and should survive whatever cries drove them to this decision.  It can only be speculated that this crisis was the Roman Emperor Constantine’s desire to have only one church doctrine; as the time periods seems to fit these two events.

The Lutheran Church’s Origin

Luther formed the Lutheran Church in Germany, dissenting from the Catholic Tradition in 1517. “Lutheranism is a major branch of Protestant Christianity which identifies with the theology of Martin Luther (1483-1546), a German friar, ecclesiastical reformer and theologian.

“Luther’s efforts to reform the theology and practice of the Catholic Church launched the Protestant Reformation in the German-speaking territories of the Holy Roman Empire. Beginning with the Ninety-Five Theses, first published in 1517, Luther’s writings were disseminated internationally, spreading the early ideas of the Reformation beyond the influence and control of the Roman Curia and the Holy Roman Emperor. The split between the Lutherans and the Catholics was made public and clear with the 1521 Edict of Worms: the edicts of the Diet condemned Luther and officially banned citizens of the Holy Roman Empire from defending or propagating his ideas, subjecting advocates of Lutheranism to forfeiture of all property, half of the seized property to be forfeit to the imperial government and the remaining half forfeit to the party who brought the accusation.  The divide centered primarily on two points: the proper source of authority in the church, often called the formal principle of the Reformation, and the doctrine of justification, often called the material principle.” [xvii]

The Origin of the Protestant Bible

“The King James Version (KJV), also known as the Authorized Version (AV) or the King James Bible (KJB), is an English translation of the Christian Bible for the Church of England begun in 1604 and completed in 1611.  The books of the King James Version include the 39 books of the Old Testament, an intertestamental section containing 14 books of the Apocrypha, and the 27 books of the New Testament.

“It was first printed by the King’s Printer Robert Barker and was the third translation into English, approved by the English Church authorities. The first had been the Great Bible, commissioned in the reign of King Henry VIII (1535), and the second had been the Bishops’ Bible of 1568.  In January 1604, James VI and I convened the Hampton Court Conference, where a new English version was conceived in response to the problems of the earlier translations perceived by the Puritans, a faction of the Church of England.  The translation is noted for its “majesty of style”, and has been described as one of the most important books in English culture.

“James gave the translators instructions intended to ensure that the new version would conform to the ecclesiology and reflect the episcopal structure of the Church of England and its belief in an ordained clergy.” By the first half of the 18th century, the Authorized Version had become effectively unchallenged as the English translation used in Anglican and English Protestant churches, except for the Psalms and some short passages in the Book of Common Prayer of the Church of England. Over the course of the 18th century, the Authorized Version supplanted the Latin Vulgate as the standard version of scripture for English-speaking scholars.” [xviii]

The Word of God

The King James Bible and its many translations into Modern English are now promoted by Protestant and Baptist Churches as the “Word of God.”  This is where Christians are to look to determine what actions are right and which are wrong.  Is the Bible then to be used to program the conscience as to what actions are right and which are wrong?  Which does one depend on for guidance – “God’s Written Word” or their own conscience programed in-turn by the Personal Counselor, Advocate, and/or the Holy Spirit?

The Origin of “Let your Conscience be Your Guide”

This is a statement from Caliph Umar’s prayer at Jabiah, after surrender of Jerusalem during the second Crusade: “Do not hesitate to say what you consider to be the truth. Say what you feel. Let your conscience be your guide” (Islamic Cir. 1189). However, Umar also encourages those under his protectorate to follow the teaching in the Quran, which has been given authority equal to if not superior to the conscience.[xix] [xx] Does one of Islamic faith than follow their conscience or the Quran? Or is the Quran used to program the conscience?

Pavlov’s Conditioned Response Visited

“Classical conditioning is now the best understood of the basic learning processes, and its neural substrates are beginning to be understood.” [xxi]  Could these declared authoritative documents; the Bible and the Koran, be used to condition the readers response to their Conscience?  In other words is our Conscience programmable as in computer language “Garbage in-Garbage out”? Should we be looking to our Conscience for guidance or to some other authoritative source?  This writers opinion is that the Conscience is the most reliable source of guidance when it is in connection with the Personal Counselor, Advocate or Holy Spirit sent to us by the RoCoU.

The Founding Fathers of the USA

The Founding Fathers of the USA stipulated that the President of the USA must be at least thirty-five years of age to hold that office.  Therefore, the Founding Fathers must have had some information regarding the maturity factor of establishing contact with one’s conscience.

The Historical Data Summarized

This historical data certainly indicates that, throughout history, there was a sense of a “Guiding Conscience.”

Our Expanded Knowledge of the Universe and Life

These discoveries have led us to the present, with the Hubble, Kepler telescopes, and other space-based instruments, determining that there are approximately four billion planets orbiting a sun (star) in the “Goldilocks Zone” (not too hot, not too cold), enabling water to exist in the liquid state and approximately one hundred thousand of these planets in the Milky Way Galaxy.  Given water, salt, amino acids and oxygen, life of one cell can be created that rapidly divides and multiplies and grows into the many shapes and sizes, of biological species, that we observe today. [xxii]

The Role of Evolution and Creation

The evolved spices of form and function to the Homo species might then be given “wisdom” by the CoU, and thus a conscience to guide them through life on that planet, thus becoming Homo sapiens (sapien means “wise”).   With their wisdom, they create all sorts of religions, based on monotheism, multi-theism, chief gods and servant gods – some demanding sacrifices, both dead and alive, even virgins to please their gods.  They look to their gods and written documents for guidance and to know right from wrong.

The Process on Earth and Other Planets

Therefore, we on planet Earth are not alone in the universe; life is evolving or has evolved on other planets in the universe just as on planet Earth.  When the time, conditions and a landing field for the RoCoU, have developed (a monotheist society, communities, communication networks, etc.), the RoCoU would likely be sent to that planet as a seed planted in a virgin and the RoCoU would grow up in that society and become a respected teacher.  He would then teach a small group of disciples, possible an even dozen, and others who follow Him, how to live on that planet successfully, how to get their basic needs of food, shelter and clothing met, and how to get along in peace with each other and in peace, as a nation, with other nations.   He would even teach them how to connect with the conscience that the CoU implanted in them when He gave them wisdom and became Homo sapiens (wise homos).  Being a religious society, they created another religion with the RoCoU (under a different name like Jesus) as the head of this religion.  This religion expands to cover the planet.  Technology and science evolve and progress until they discover that the head of their church (a.k.a. Jesus) is really the Representative from the Creator of the Universe (RoCoU) and they learn to connect to their conscience for guidance, rather than ancient writings, and religion becomes an artifact in their societies and there is peace between individuals and nations until the end of time for this planet.

The Evolution of the Universe

Suns are born of a seed and, under the universal force of gravity, matter scattered throughout the universe, by the death of a previous sun or the Big Bang and this matter is gathered to this seed including hydrogen, which is in abundance in the universe. When the seed has enough hydrogen gathered, through the force of gravity a nuclear reaction fusing the nuclei of the hydrogen atoms together, releasing much energy and forming helium, the mass of this new sun will continue to grow clearing its space of gravitational influence of all matter.  Planets will form from seeds of matter as well and will clear their space of material within their gravitational influence.  The centripetal force produced by the orbit of these planets around the sun counterbalances the gravity of the sun and they come to equilibrium in an orbit around the sun.

As the sun consumes the hydrogen fuel, its ability to counterbalance the force of gravity and consequently be compressed into either a Black Hole (a.k.a. Black Energy) or will rebound and expel its gathered and remanufactured contents (The Table of Elements) back into the universe.  In this way, suns are like biological plants, as they are born of a seed, grow and mature, live a full and useful life, die and reproduce themselves many times over.  The universe, in turn, began as a seed and with The Big Bang and is expanding and creating new galaxies to fill the voids created by its expansion, thus also acting as if a living plant. [xxiii]

Religion a Phenomena of Ancient History

When we compare religion to our increased knowledge of the universe since the early twentieth century from our space probes, we become aware that we now know more than any generation before us about the creation of the universe and its Creator, and religion needs to be filed into the history books as being part of our past!  It is time for the inhabitants of planet Earth to move forward, trusting in their Creator who has given conscience for guidance.  He has put the books of knowledge about what is right and what is wrong, and been given absolute authority by the Homo sapiens as part of a religious sect, onto the book shelves as informative information and not absolute commands for knowing the right from the wrong.  Let us move on from worshipping our God (the creator) or our gods and our books of authority to, as Jiminy Cricket said, “Let your conscience be your guide.”  The RoCoU sent us a Personal Counselor who communicates to us through our conscience.  Prior to this event, which took place at the Pentecost Festival following the RoCoU’s return to His home base somewhere in the Universe; Homo sapiens did not have this advantage and made some bad choices. x

The Path to Peace on Earth

To achieve “Peace on Earth,” we need to move from trusting in religion and get everyone on the same page, trusting in their conscience which is guided by the Personal Counselor sent to us by the RoCoU.  This is not religion but is, in fact, science and “science tells you the truth whether you like it or not!” [xxiv] The RoCoU did not expect us to worship him as God or as the Creator of the Universe; He came to show us how to live on this planet and communicate with our conscience which, in turn, is guided by His Personal Counselor.

Definition of Gad Fly

  • A fly that bites livestock, especially a horsefly, warble fly, or botfly.
  • An annoying person, especially one who provokes others into action by criticism.

The Gad Fly of the Greek Democracy[i]

  • Plato refers to Socrates as the “gad fly” of the state (as the gad fly stings the horse into action, so Socrates stung various Athenians).

The Gad Fly of the Christian Church[ii]

A New Paradigm in Christian Thinkingis the gad fly of the Christian Church.  Christian Churches do not accept criticism, ever. The price of criticism in the Christian Church is excommunication.  Christian sees themselves as “birds of a feather” and a critical bird is not of their nest.  They must protect the income and salaries of the professional Christians, the minds of their youth and the minds of all of their members from the gad flies of the Christian Church. Professional Christians must preach to the choir, instructing them on the religion that they have chosen to put their faith.  The cost of not preaching to the choir is that the choir will vote with their feet and donations, resulting in a loss of income to the church and the professional Christians who probably have children – if Protestant – that they need to get through college and a mortgage to pay off.   If the professional Christians are Catholic, they will not meet with the approval of the hierarchy of the church and will be excommunicated.

Max Planck, the German nuclear physicist of the early twentieth century, stated, “A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it.[iii]

The same statement can be made of religion.  Acceptance of a new viewpoint of the existing data on religion can only take place when a younger generation becomes comfortable with these new views and those who are adamantly opposed to these new views die off.

Because of this self-protection of the minds of the youths, the church is destined to disappear for failure to keep up with our knowledge of the universe and the light it has shined on our knowledge and purpose of the visit to planet Earth of the Representative of the Creator of the Universe (RoCoU) two thousand years ago, and taught how the Homo sapiens who have evolved over the past thousands of centuries can get their basic needs of food, clothing and shelter met on this planet Earth and how to live in peace with each other and other nations.

An interesting side note is that Paleoanthropologist has found no link to the evolution of the Homo sapiens skull to that of the evolved Ancient Man, leaving open the creation of the Homo species by the “Creator of the Universe”.  Although ancient man and modern man have identical bone structure from the neck on down, their skulls and thus brains are much different, nor is there any evidence of a transitional development from the skull of Ancient Man to the skull (Brain) of the Homo Species. [iv]

The advances in our knowledge of the universe and the life creation process in the last one hundred years, mainly due to the Hubble Telescope and advances in life science, have put the Christian Church in a position where they need to update their theology from religious to pragmatic (cause and effect, science) or face extinction.  The church is clearly in a position of “grow or die” and the church cannot possibly grow with the determination to maintain their existing course, a course established and handed down through the generations and centuries by people that did not understand the meaning, instructions from the RoCoU and implications of the events that had taken place in the very beginning of “The Way” or the Christian Church.  These events took place in a very religious society and that society, for the most part, saw and recorded these events through a religious lens (perspective).

Case Study I

The RoCoU that visited planet Earth two thousand years ago taught the audience that had gathered around Him how to get along with other people on a one-on-one basis and how nations could live in peace with one another on a nation-to-nation basis.[v]

  • For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” [vi] From the accepted Christian perspective, their judgments will be judged by a higher power at the end of the life of planet Earth. They do not see their judging others as something that has immediate consequences.  From the pragmatic perspective, the effect of judging others – be it one-on-one or nation-to-nation – will have immediate consequences.  All Homo sapiens on planet Earth are of equal authority; one does not have dominion over another. And as one Homo sapiens judges another, so in turn are they judged by those they are judging in real time by the same measure they are using to judge! This holds true for one nation to judge another nation. As one nation judges another, so is that nation judged, by the measure they use to judge, by the nation they are judging.  As in the case where the USA is judging ISIS with “air strikes,” the USA is being judged by ISIS attacking soft target (civilian targets, airplanes, restaurants, public places, etc.) with bombing and assault weapons.  The USA has judged ISIS as “barbaric” and ISIS, in turn, has judged the USA as “barbaric”.  This ISIS War has made it impossible to tell the Barbarians from the Barbarians.

Wars of our past have been mislabeled.  We must remember that the President of the USA is also the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the USA.  The orders given by the President must be followed by the USA military forces.  The President does not issue illegal orders.  If the President  orders it, it is a legal order and must be obeyed by those in subornation to the Commander-in-Chief.  One can argue that they do not have to follow an illegal order, but they will probably be sent to the brig while the Supreme Court reviews their case. They will be removed from and replaced from duty and someone else will carry out the Commander-in-Chief’s order.

Therefore the Civil War as we know it was not our civil war – it was  Lincoln’s War.  The USA involvement in WWII was FDR’s and Truman’s War.  Harry Truman was President when the Korean War began in 1950, and Dwight Eisenhower was elected in 1952 and was President when the armistice was signed in 1953.  The Vietnam War was JFK’s initiative and LBJ’s Bombing War; Nixon pulled USA troops out of Vietnam. The Serbia vs. Bosnia, Kosovo, NATO was Clinton’s war.  The Persian Gulf War I with Iraq was G.H.W. Bush’s War.  The Iraq War was G.W. Bush’s War and the ISIS-ISIL War is Obama’s War.

As a professional troubleshooter for over forty years, I can equivalently state that, “A problem must be accurately described before action is taken to try and solve the problem; if not, a bigger problem will be the result.”  By placing the proper labels on our past wars, we should gain some insight as to the right problem to solve.

The Right Problem to Solve

  • Settle matters quickly with your adversary who is taking you to court. Do it while you are still together on the way, or your adversary may hand you over to the judge, and the judge may hand you over to the officer, and you may be thrown into prison.” [vii]

The term “workable compromise” was not coined until the twentieth century. Is it any wonder that our ancestors did not understand the meaning of the above instruction from the RoCoU during his visit to planet Earth two thousand years ago?  A workable Compromise is a solution to conflicts that work for all participants in the disagreement.  The first step in search of a workable compromise is to ask the conflicting subject, “What do you want?”  If one does not understand what the conflicting parties want, how can a resolution ever be found that works for the principle parties?

  • Or suppose a king is about to go to war against another king. Won’t he first sit down and consider whether he is able with ten thousand men to oppose the one coming against him with twenty thousand? If he is not able, he will send a delegation while the other is still a long way off and will ask for terms of peace.[viii]

Here we have the workable compromise on a much larger scale.  In the case of USA vs. ISIS, the question was never asked, “What do you want?”  If we trace back the steps of the previous administrations, we should be able to predict what ISIS-ISIL wants.  The Sunni Muslims were in power in Iraq prior to G.W. Bush’s administration.  G.W. Bush’s War left the Sunni dispossessed from their homeland by the puppet Shiite Muslim administration installed by Bush. Iraq’s neighbor, Syria, was involved in its own civil war; The Sunni Muslims, now still armed with their weapons from the now defunct Iraq Red Army, seized the opportunity and developed their base of operation in Syria.  This new ISIL then made pronouncement on video, in a very barbaric way, for the USA to “Stay out of our fight.”  The Obama administration judged ISIL as “terrorists” and initiated air strikes against ISIS-ISIL as they threatened our allies in power in Iraq.

As described above in Case Study I, judging a nation as terrorist will result in the judging nation to be judged as terrorist by the judged nation.   As the USA conducted air strikes against “hard targets” (military targets) in an attempt to minimize collateral damage (civilian deaths), ISIS-ISIL, in retaliation, began bombing and assaulting soft targets (Civilian Targets).

Judging and the lack of ability to negotiate a workable compromise by the Obama administration has, and will continue to, cost the western civilization much cost in damage, dislocation of refugees and lives of civilians.  It is apparent that even a routine change in the administration by a newly elected administration will not end this conflict with ISIS-ISIL. A resignation or impeachment of the Chief Executive seems the proper road to pursue.  A newly elected administration would be in a position of trying to apologize for the actions of the previous administrations, and that never happens.

The Lens Used for the Viewing of the Facts

The lens one views the facts, events or evidence through determines the conclusions that the viewer will hold as the correct interpretation of the facts, events or evidence. The classic scenario is this: Two men who are walking in the woods come upon an immaculate garden, complete with trimmed hedges, flower garden arrangements, etc.   One man states, “There must be a caretaker for this place.” The other man states, “What a wonderful work of nature.”   The events that took place during the visit of the RoCoU two thousand years ago can be looked at through a religious lens or a pragmatic lens.

There are two and maybe three writers that were able to record the events, of the visit to Earth by the RoCoU and the events that took place, without looking though there religious lens.  Mark, who wrote the book of Mark in the Book of Books, the Bible, was a young man on the perimeter of the core group who became the Apostles of the RoCoU. He found himself in Rome where much persecution was taking place of the “Christians” in Rome.  He took it upon himself to record for the purpose of history the events that had taken place during his life.  He was an eyewitness to some of the events and received reports from those who were part of the core group of the RoCoU.  The style of writing for an historian is to answer the questions, “who, what, where and when.”   Luke, who wrote the books of Luke (Luke I) and Acts of the Apostles (Luke II), was contracted to record the events that had and were taking place in this time period. [ix]  Luke wrote under the guidelines of a journalist, answering “who, what, where and when.”  Luke was an eyewitness to many of the events that took place, he interviewed others who were eyewitnesses of events and he was an embedded journalist with the Apostle Paul on his missionary journeys.  Matthew was a tax collector and a Jew who made an argument to Jews of the authentication of the RoCoU to the Jewish religion.  He sometimes included the “why” in his writings, as did John in the book of John.  This would make their writing styles, “who, what, where, when and why” a little more difficult to sort out the facts from their interpretation of the facts and events that took place during this visit of the RoCoU.  The Apostle Paul was highly educated in Jewish religion and history.  He viewed our relationship with the RoCoU through the lens of Jewish religion and history.  A close examination of the writing of Paul will disclose that his view of the RoCoU’s visit to planet Earth was religious and the RoCoU’s view of his visit to earth was pragmatic and the next step in the evolution of the Homo species on planet Earth.

The Gad Fly of the Democracy of the USA

The present day gad fly of democracy in the USA is The Top Gun National Crises Troubleshooter, Retired.[x]  The Greeks invented democracy from scratch and it worked well for them for about 170 years.  The Greeks were on the peak of their Golden Age when they got tired of hearing their gad fly, Socrates, who was a critic of their society, in particular of the shortcomings and corruption in this democracy.  Socrates was one of the founders of western philosophy.  The Greek Senate charged Socrates with “corrupting the minds of the youth,” and they sentenced Socrates to death.  The death of Socrates was the beginning of the downfall of Greece, for they had lost their “guidepost.”

The Top Gun National Crises Troubleshooter, like Socrates has been excommunicated from his position at a national laboratory by management that took offense to his proposals that threated their power structure.  His teaching credentials were canceled in a local church for “corrupting the minds of the youth” and not teaching the church’s official view on the subject. He was excommunicated from a church where he was a member in good standing for twenty years for publishing “A New Paradigm in Christian Thinking” [xi] and corrupting the minds of their youth and any other person in their church with science and philosophy.  Thank God for civil laws that protects our citizens from physical harm.

Our President has not chosen to listen to this gad fly, when he suggested that a workable compromise be initiated to resolve the conflict of space, control and authority in Iraq between the three different sects of Muslims. This was proposed by the Vice President, and now the reining authority in Syria has been added to the mix; he chose to put together a coalition of nations to wipe ISIS-ISIL from planet Earth.  ISIS-ISIL has retaliated with attacks against this coalition of nations and the USA hitting soft targets.  We should expect this activity to continue. The best outcome, using the best military forces on the planet,  for a military victory, will be guerilla warfare with the soft targets continuing to be hit by these guerilla fighters.  The only solution to the ISIS-ISIL conflict is a workable compromise – a permanent home for the displaced Sunni Muslims from their Iraq home.

Lessons from History

In 480 B.C. the Persians were set upon wiping the Greeks off the Earth or enslaving them.  The Persians greatly outnumbered the Greeks.  The Persians were under autocratic the rule of Xerxes; the Greeks were under democratic rule (one for all and all for one).   The Persians overran the Greek Spartans (trained warriors) at the pass of Thermopylae [xii] and sacked Athens, which had been evacuated by the Greeks.

The Persians had large war ships (similar to that of the USA navy, bigger than their opponents).  The Greeks built small maneuverable war ships with a torpedo like Ram on the bow of the ship (A trireme).  The Greeks lured the Persian navy in to the Aegean Sea where there were many islands presenting a maneuverable issue for the Persians.  With their mobility (like ISIS-ISIL), the Greeks ran circles around the larger Persian ships and rammed the Persian ships with their torpedo like Rams at the front of their ships and sank the Persian Fleet. [xiii]

Beware USA your large arsenal of weapons is being out maneuvered by an adversary who is focused on mobility.

The USA Transition from a Republic to a Democracy

The USA was formed as a republic and has been in a long transition to a democracy in small steps. This change has come about by allowing more of the population to vote in elections and it changed the way our President was elected.  In the beginning, only land owners could vote in the elections.  These were the people who had an invested interest in the profitability of the nation, much like that of stockholders voting in a corporation. [xiv]  The vote has slowly been extended, for various reasons, to other segments of our society who do not have an investment or knowledge of producing a profitable nation (women, teens, those on government assistance).  We certainly have improved on the lifestyles of our citizens, as have the Greeks, but our national debt is rising above our ability to pay the interest, which could eventually result in foreclosure on our property (nation) by our creditors (like the two bailouts of the Greeks by the EU in recent history).

The Life Span of a Democracy

The average lifespan for a democracy is about 170 years, as established by the Greeks.  In the Greek democracy, leaders were chosen by a lottery, thus minimizing payoffs and corruption in the government.  Serving as a leader was considered a duty of citizenship.  Ballots could be cast to remove a government leader from office and they would be exiled for ten years from their society. In the Greek democracy, only about 20 percent of the population could vote. [xv]   The Greeks now have more people on the government payroll than people paying taxes to support the government. Is this direction the USA wants to continue to pursue?

The Code of Conduct to Live Long in this Land

There is a “code of conduct” that was intended to provide for the continued success of a nation living long in the land that had been giving to them.  Unfortunately, these were given to a very religious people and they did not understand the economic implications of these Ten Codes of Conduct.  Unfortunately, these Ten Codes of Conduct are still seen as religious by almost our entire society, religious and secular alike.  When one sets aside their religious lens, the pragmatic lens shows that the economics of these Ten Codes of Conduct can be realized.  The original Codes of Conduct were given in an ancient language; therefore, the proper perspective is to look at them through the eyes of a parent giving instruction to their children so that they might live long in the land the parent was giving them to raise their generations.

  1. You will not listen to anyone but your father for guidance.
  2. You will not form addictions that will prevent you from making your own decisions.
  3. You will not use my name as an authority to cause trouble or discomfort for any other person on this planet Earth.
  4. You will take a day off, after every six days of work, and remember who gave you this land and enjoy your time with family and friends, and you will allow your employees time off to enjoy their family and friends, and you will not mow your lawn on this day and interrupt the peace of your neighbors.
  5. Remember what your mother and father taught you, and hand down those teaching to your children and grandchildren, that you might live long in this land I have given you.
  6. You shall not murder.
  7. You shall not steal.
  8. You shall not give false witness against your neighbor.
  9. You shall not seek an intimate relationship with your neighbor’s wife.
  10. You shall not scheme to gain possession of your neighbor’s property.
  11. You will not build a big mansion type house in your neighbor’s back yard.
  12. You shall keep the walk-ways, of your communities, free of “Foxtails” that injure our pets. [xvi]
